Choices

In every moment of every day, you have ‘choice’…whether you believe me or not…this is so.

The reason why you have ‘choice’ is because you are indeed made in the image of God…..and God gave you free will, which means you can choose where you put your energy and attention in each moment of your life on earth.

‘Choice’, has another more colloquial meaning in our culture, where it is used as an adjective rather than a verb, to describe the best of something. So it is implicit in the word now that the ‘choice’ we make will be the best one!

The evidence globally however indicates that many choices people make are destructive to themselves and others. So, what is that all about?

Quite simply you have free choice to take as long as you like to find your true path and live a joyful life. You can take forever if you wish…and suffer every day…or you can make a different ‘choice’ and bypass the pain, going straight for the joy.

I was sitting on my roof some time ago about 2am, crying my eyes out because I had discovered I had been betrayed. (Of course, I know that no one has the power to betray me but myself) but my victim was up and I was in a deep depression when my son Ahkasha came upstairs to see if I was okay. He put his arm around my shoulder and I said something like, “I will never be able to go there again. I feel like a complete idiot. I am ashamed of my stupidity…..that’s it…I can never show my face there ever again.” Ahkasha listened to me rave through my pain and distraction. When I finally fell silent, he came close with his big brown eyes and heavy black lashes, looking right into my face, with only the moonlight for illumination and said very gently, “Well mummy, you could think like that …and make that choice…or you could change what you are thinking and return at the right time!”

I must admit I was flabbergasted at his completely unexpected enlightened response……he was just 13 years old. You perhaps have a few brilliant kids hanging around your place, keeping you aware of your choices, making you honest with yourself.

To make a choice is to claim your power and Divine Right as a human ‘Being’. To make the right choice is to align with the Divine Intent.

Where are you in the ‘choice’ stakes?

When you make your choice, is it the best for you or are you always trying to please others, rather than yourself, for their approval.

Freedom requires the exercise of educated personal ‘choice’. Do your choices bring you freedom?
