Sympathy… is it good or bad?

The world is in chaos…

Lately I have been contemplating the entirely human quality known as ’sympathy.’

No other creature on earth has the evolutionary development to express such a frequency of being.

Sympathy… is it good or bad to be sympathetic?

Something to consider…
There are a couple of related qualities: ‘sympathy‘ and ‘empathy’. To have ‘empathy’… to be empathetic is to feel as if you have ‘walked a mile in someone’s shoes’ … you are acknowledging the feelings or experiences of another.
Whereas ’sympathy’ has an inbuilt quality of superiority attached to the action of giving ’sympathy’ or being sympathetic. You do not speak about sharing sympathy… one gives while the other receives… indicating an inherent lack of equality in the exchange.

I have met many people who play ‘the sympathy card’ to get by in life. (Make no mistake… it’s a manipulation). There are some who play it brilliantly. Not like a violin but rather, like a full orchestra… with breathtaking skill and some others can use it with the power of a sociopath.

For those of you who don’t know exactly what a ’sociopath’ is, it’s someone who feels none of the normal rules of human interaction apply to them (because they feel that their story is the most miserable of all and no one will ever understand their pain etc… and so on…). In their version of reality, there is the underlying beliefe that everyone has had it better than them so the “general public” is fair game…everyone can be used for their own ends with no sense of responsibility, gratitude or appreciation…or reciprocation.

In fact at the end, when it has become obvious this is a ‘dependent’, manipulative person rather than a responsible, talented ‘individual’ looking for a break …(they usually have a well refined/rehearsed attitude of pathetic-ness with that ‘deep unrecognized potential’…you feel sure you can help them reveal to the world!) Divine Consort

Hi, how are you?

Shankari in her Hawaii GardenI am really excited about the new book I am writing. It is about self satisfaction in the truest form. I have found life to be interesting and intriguing since my divorce but I have not met in all the years I have been separated from him, a single man who touched my fancy sufficiently to seek sexual satisfaction through coupling with him.

“I have on the other hand resurrected one of my more unusual skills from my youth and always been very sexually satisfied. Women are not naturally driven by the need for sex alone.”

Because women are relationship oriented, for a woman to truly enjoy sex she has to believe it is part of a relationship. It may not be a relationship leading to marriage but it must have a level of truth attached to it for intimacy to truly flourish.

Men on the other hand have the ability to completely compartmentalize experiences and have no trouble with sex outside relationship. (Maybe not all men, but certainly the ones with high levels of testosterone that are the most charismatic to women. These would be the Fire/Earth elements).

We are all going through a changed experience just now and the economy is making everyone nervous. I am writing this book to bring a level of peace into your life. No matter what…

“The right to self pleasure is yours.”

There is no reason to feel alone and unloved. There is no one who can abandon or abuse you but yourself. It is time for all people, men and women to act out all their sexual fantasies with the Divine Lover and feel whole and complete when they step out into the world.

There is no excuse for sexual frustration any more! Throughout history the church has tried to curb the sexual expression of everyone under their control.

Why?

There is no evidence to support the idea (as the church had people convinced) you will grow hair on the palms of your hands or go cross eyed because you take the time to please yourself.

Why would you take the time to please yourself? When you feel sexual satisfaction you hold a certain frequency that alerts others to your condition. Consequently you are protected from poor decisions you might make from neediness. …you not at the mercy of others.

To be your own source is the ultimate freedom.

This is a gift you can give yourself that will fill your spirit and release great power into the world. It is up to you to harness this power with your intent and send it to the places in your life that need it most.

This is an aspect of organic magic rarely discussed. I look forward to lifting the veil on this secret subject and sharing the gifts with you. One of the aspects of human life is that we are not all the same.

“We are each unique. Within our uniqueness there are groups or ‘elements’. Understanding the elements gives us the information we need to understand the world around us and why people act as they do.”

To know and understand the elements is to give up judgments on others. Once you understand your own nature and that of those around you though this ancient information life will become a lot more of an adventure and a lot less of a trial

During my workshop series “Rhythms of Life” I teach the basics of “ The Elements” and my students are always amazed how perfectly people follow the behavior and values of their element. Many mysteries unfold within my workshops, I hope you will come and join me soon….

Talk about throw a party..!

Full moon in Leo… with an eclipse!

Did  you celebrate?

We did, at the Mystery School in Hawaii! I had all my friends and students over and we danced under the stars to welcome the magnificent full moon, it was breathtaking. Swinging to Stevie Wonder on what appears to be the edge of the world and watching the sunset and the moon rise at exactly the same moment. …. It made me think ……

when humans are fighting over the earth we are as ants discussing who owns an elephant…

Our planet is a jewel in the universe… to be treasured not trashed by her custodians.
The feeling of spaciousness hits everyone as they enter the property. Impacted by the beauty and natural wonder of this oasis over looking the sea, deep in the lava desert of the Ka’u Coast, Big Island Hawaii. I am constantly in joy, looking out into the infinite sky above the silvery grey line of the horizon… the power of the earth is undeniable here… where a lava flow can take your house or a hurricane could simply blow you away.

I had a very important revelation throughout the day that made my celebration even more exciting last night. … I have struck earth on my land! I have a back acre I am preparing to turn into a food forest along the principles of perma-culture The area has been barren and wind swept for as long as I have been here, nothing can grow because there is no earth, just raw lava. There is no water, just a heavy dew that’s blown away by the fifty mile an hour trade winds that are frequent and unrelenting.

BUT…. Today as the back hoe was digging the deep trenches to plant in away from the force of the wind we found pockets of real earth! Talk about throw a party! I wanted to fall to my knees in gratitude. It’s hard to imagine a place with no earth if you have never been here. It’s hard to imagine anything really… that’s why the people with vision are often lonely and ungrounded.
I have literally discovered a deep dark warm space where anything will grow, when I thought there was none. . I feel that’s true inside myself as well as inside the earth here.  I feel it is symbolic of a new type of creativity we are being ask to uncover within ourselves, close to the earth, simple and true to the laws of nature.

Blessings to you all this full moon.

May you have a good belly laugh before the week is over!

Tolerance and Patience

Today I was talking to a friend and she told me she was “trying to be more tolerant.” I responded with, “don’t you mean ‘patient?” She thought about it for a moment and asked, ”what’s the difference?” “There’s a huge difference,” I replied, surprised she didn’t know what that was. Do you know what it is?

The difference between patience and tolerance is the presence or absence of judgment.

To be tolerant is to say that you have already made a judgment but you are attempting to ‘not apply it too harshly’…whereas to be patient is to provide some time and space for change before you make the judgment that brings you to a point of intolerance.

Tolerance is the measure of how much stress something can take before it snaps…Patience comes from the Latin word ‘pax’ which means ‘peace’. To be patient is to look for the peaceful way…not to judge and cause upheaval. Continue reading ‘Tolerance and Patience’ »

Painting Silk

Did you know that silk has the same frequency as crystal?

That’s why it is such a powerful healing device.  It actually has the power to hold sound and color within its personal energy equation.  When I was pregnant with my last child fourteen years ago,  I began researching the qualities of silk.  Like most skills in my life, my research was initially driven by the need to survive.

Living in Bali, seeing clients daily, growing bigger and rounder by the minute, I wanted to dress in the fabric that would most support my ability to be successful under pressure.  After much research, I discovered that silk is the strongest natural thread in the world.  It is absolutely energy absorbent so takes on the intent of the maker and then the wearer. Youth Worship, Part II

Western Culture generally believes this life is a one way street.

We are born, eat, sleep and reproduce, then die, leaving only our genetic code in another, or perhaps our name on a building to mark our passing.

How meaningless is that?

No wonder people get depressed. I have never personally had this problem since I began having clear recollections of my past lives when I was in my early teens. Continue reading ‘Youth Worship, Part II’ »

Youth Worship, Part I

We are living in a world obsessed with youth and external forms of beauty.

No one misses out on feeling old when they’re very young in our culture…Interesting isn’t it?

Do you know that the flexibility of your spine is a true indication of the flexibility of your mind…and vice versa…and the flexibility of your mind is in direct relationship with the adaptability of your personality and the youthfulness of your body?

Why is that? Continue reading ‘Youth Worship, Part I’ »

Ecstatic Dance

The intent for change I expressed on New Years’ Eve seems to be bearing fruit already!
My intent is to change my patterns of my behavior so that I may expect something different (perhaps a miracle?) in my future, rather than rehashing the why’s ,how’s,and who’s of the past. I want to bypass all of the boring conversation and just get on with it!

Sooo…I accepted an invitation to awaken very early and travel to the other side of the island!

Why? Continue reading ‘Ecstatic Dance’ »

Depression

When you consider the original meaning of this word, it describes the action of “pressing down.” Indeed, it refers to an action and a direction of movement…’down’ leaving all around it in ‘overwhelm’…What is it that when de-pressed, doesn’t recover, but rather stays in its state of de-pression without further force? Dehydrated flesh for one…the skin stays down and indented after being pressed in by a strong thumb… have you ever noticed that?

That’s the condition of the spirit, when some one says they are “depressed.” So using the same analogy, what is it that addresses the problem of dehydration?

Did I just hear you say water? Continue reading ‘Depression’ »

Abundance

To become genuinely ‘abundant,’ we must give ourselves time for ’self.’  It’s a powerful action and something completely within our own control.  It’s much better than an anti-depressant!

If we don’t feel we can afford ‘time for self’ today, what on earth makes us think we will ever experience abundance tomorrow?

If we’re constantly looking outside ourselves for love and approval or self-deceiving for the sake of money, it will be at the cost of our personal freedom and integrity!  That can’t lead to abundance…only bankruptcy.  With no integrity or freedom, what is the point of abundance? Continue reading ‘Abundance’ »
